HammerKit was founded in 2006 in Helsinki, Finland with the goal of making designer-friendly tools for the creation of dynamic web services. The company was founded by two designers and two coders who set out to challenge the status quo and try to create a new way of building and maintaining data-driven sites.
During 2007, we listened to our customers and launched version 3.5 of our toolset with a range of improvements to make it faster to build new services and easier to reuse the web assets that designers were producing.
The company grew during 2008 to 7 people, with the addition of a new CEO, Mark Sorsa-Leslie and two new recruits to help develop the services business. In October 2008, the company won the Audience Favourite and Best Company awards at the International MindTrek conference held annually in Tampere, Finland. At the end of 2008 the company raised a seed round of funding, was awarded with a Red Herring Global 100 Award and selected by the Finnish National Innovation Organisation, TEKES, as a one of ten companies nominated as a �Young Innovative Company� with high-growth potential.
In 2009, we launched our services business targeting creative agencies, media companies and web designers with the offer of a complete online studio for the production and maintenance of dynamic web services. The company grew to 10 people with the additional of Anu Halme as Head of Sales, Ludovic Gaude as Business Development Director and Heidi Holm as Head of Solutions.
During 2009, we will launch the next version of HammerKit which is in production at the moment. This breakthrough product will change the landscape of web development and provide even more power for designers to create flexible, dynamic web services faster and more efficiently than ever.
