The Component menu is located in the left side of the content editor view if it is set visible. You can set the Component menu visible or hidden in the COMPONENT menu. The Component menu shows the directory listing of the components depending on the logged user�s access settings and rights.


The menu in the left side of the Content editor is called Component menu. It is a directory containing the hierarchic list of all components and pages of the site. The component list contains a set of tools and functions tha enable the managing, organizing and publishing of components and editing of the structure of the site. Many of the functions of the Component menu are available in the Components directory too.

Switching the component MENU on and off



  1. Click the VIEW menu title once to open the VIEW pop-up menu.
  2. Choose Component to switch the component list on or off.
    The v shows that the Component menu is visible

Opening components

The Component list shows the components as hierarchical directory menu.
  • The components that have sub components have a folder icon
  • The components that have no sub components have document icon.
  • The name of the active component that is visible in the editor has black font color.
  • The names of other components have green font color and behave as links that open the component in the editor.

Using the component menu to open components
