After a lot of hard work from my team I am extremely pleased to take the wraps off the new version of HammerKit. It has been a long journey to get here, but I think we have created something really special - the first cloud-based service design system.
The new version of HammerKit is a complete rewrite of the original version and offers a totally new way to build anything from a standard site to a complex web service. Targeted at web designers, HammerKit includes all the tools needed to create, manage and maintain feature-rich, data-rich web services with drag and drop simplicity.
HammerKit provides all the tools you need to power your web design business.
Up until now, you have been restricted to create simple sites from templates or having to find someone who can code to create your web site. HammerKit now allows you to take control of your projects, create the functionality you need. No HTML, no coding, no fuss. Our goal is to make it possible for you to build something once and reuse or resell it easily.
We have been running in private beta for a number of weeks and have had hundreds of users testing the service. I am very grateful for all of the feedback and bug reports we have received - it helps us a lot and I would like to encourage you to send your feedback. We have also had a large number of feature requests that we will add to the service as we go.
This is just the beginning for us - we have a lot more to do, and I wanted to give you a picture of what is coming next. Our roadmap for HammerKit includes:
- adding a range of new elements covering areas such as social media and ecommerce
- adding component dragging and dropping - providing you with the ability to easy move parts from project to project
- improving the form handling to further simplify the process of working with data
- launching a range of sample sites to provide you with easy starting pointslaunching the HammerKit Academy - this will provide training and support for beginners to advanced HammerKit users using an online classroom
The next big thing we will launch will be the HammerKit Store. This will allow you to add the sites to the store with a price and support level you decide. We want you to be able to make more money from the web services you have built and there is no better way than by letting you resell them over and over again. This is made possible by the unique component technology we have developed in HammerKit and our ability to make every site you build a template you can resell. We will give you advance notice of the store to let you start to add your sites there before we go live.
Finally, I would really like to hear about your initial experiences with HammerKit. It is never easy to launch a new service, especially something as deep as HammerKit and we need your help to to take this good foundation and turn it into a great service that exceeds your expectations.
I want to say a big thank you to my team. They have worked their socks off to bring HammerKit to you. I hope you love HammerKit as much as we do.
