From Gigabit Ethernet Radio networks and streaming docs to mobile comics and mobile network improvement
The session started with ModeSat from Estonia introducing their product portfolio targeted at improving Gigabit Ethernet via Radio and Satellite Broadband solutions. Really big team spread through Estonia, Belarus and Russia.
Next up was Peter Lindgren from VisiArc. They have developed an interesting application that lets you stream documents to your mobile device like you would a video.
Next was WiMoss, a spin-out candidate from Danske Telecom. Revenue, customer satisfaction and radio performance improvement for mobile operators.
A really interesting new business called Catooz from a company called Campfire. They deliver comics on a mobile phone. Works on 95% of Java-enabled phones, iPhone and Android. Excellent presentation and looks like a great user experience. They are launching quite a clever scratchcard approach that lets kids buy the comic cards that allow them to get direct access to the comics on their phone.
The second-from last presentation was from ThirdPresence showing how to create mobile video on any device. Basic pitch is that the market is fragmented and will get more so. They allow the video to be served perfectly on any device.
The final presentation was from 2Operate. Slight technical hitch from the a company that presents itself as "simplifying troubleshooting". Oops...little bit slow to start but we got underway. It is focused on troubleshooting mobile networks. Using AI technology to produce a diagnosis automatically.
An interesting bunch of companies here, so I am looking forward to hear who will go forward from here.
