We are in the middle of a conference spree. In the past weeks we participated in two excellent Carsonified events: FOWA in Dublin and FOWD in London where we got some great feedback, met loads of interesting people and just had ourselves a jolly good time.
Future of Web Apps was a tightly packed one day event at the pictoresque University College Dublin campus. The program included thought provoking presentations by representatives of both some bigger actors, such as Raffi Krikorian of Twitter, Christian Heilmann of Yahoo, as well as interesting smaller players such as Ireland based Contrast. In addition to all the tech talk, brand consultant (and independent digital ninja) Alex Hunter reminded the audience about the importance of good branding and Relly Annett-Baker from Poppy Copy talked about how to formulate a content strategy. Mark also got the opportunity to participate in a start-up pitching competition, which he pulled off pretty nicely by winning the whole thing. The feedback from the jury was very uplifting. It so seems that even more punk is welcomed in the we.
All in all Dublin was good orientation for the Future of Web Design where we continued spreading our message, mingling with cool web junkies and sucking in the latest developments within web design. Once again the talks and workshops were top class. To name a few... UX consultant and podcaster Paul Boag gave an interesting insight on the must have skills of a web designer, Aarron Walter from Mail Chimp gave a great talk about what makes a superior user experience, and Webstandardistas' UX presentation was refreshing both in content as well as delivery.
Next up is Webinale which marks the launch of the new HammerKit. We are looking forward to yet another great conference in the über cool Berlin.
