What browsers are supported by HammerKit?

HammerKit allows you to design sites that will work with any browser, but the HammerKit toolset itself works with:

Internet Explorer 8
Chrome
Safari 4.0+
Firefox 3.5+

We are testing the new version with these and recommend that you work with one of them to ensure the functionality works correctly. We prefer Firefox in-house, so for the best results choose Firefox.

What do I do now as a beta tester?

We will send you your login name and password (if we have not done so already) and we have a newsletter for beta testers that will be sent soon with some specific parts of the system we would like you to work with. For the moment we would really like if you could work with the Component Editor and test the content elements in particular.

Where can I get HammerKit and how much does it cost?

HammerKit is not commercially available yet, as we are still in private beta mode. However, the basic approach is that HammerKit is free for you to use to develop and test with and once you are ready to launch your service you then pay a one-time license fee of €199 and a monthly service fee starting from €29 per month.

Our goal is to ensure that you can work with our system easily and create value for your clients by using HammerKit.

The system will be available commercially from June onwards.

The HammerKit BETA has been updated to version 3281. The main changes in this version are the inclusion of new functionality to set access permissions in the Users and Groups tools, but the following issues were also fixed from last week:

What units should I use when setting dimensions?

When you are setting dimensions you should enter the number followed by either px or % depending on what dimensions you would like to set. The px or % are not added by default, so if you leave these out the system will not set the dimension correctly.

How do I add a div?

There are two ways to add a div element in HammerKit.

1. You can use the Container Div/Span element

2. You can use an HTML element

Both have advantages, but we recommend the first way, as it reduces the need to remember class names etc when you want to add a style to the div.

There are many hot keys just like other wysiwyg editor, why dont you start with selecting an element then press "Delete"

How do I change the width and height of a table cell?

You can set the table cell sizes by right-clicking on the cell and selecting Edit Cell. Point your mouse at the cell and then right-click. The settings box appears and you then click the Styles tab and look for the dimensions part. You will be able to set the height and and width of the cell from here.

You can also change the look and feel of the cell using this approach by adjusting the other settings found in the style section.

How do I change the font families?

On the font-families, we still have to implement the font family choices for the style editors, so for the moment the only way is just to go to the Style Manager and type them in manually. This will be coming soon in an update to the beta.

Welcome to the HammerKit Studio private beta and thank you for taking the time to review our product.

We are really excited about the launch of HammerKit Studio. It has been a two year journey to create this version and it is now ready for you to review, test and provide some feedback on. As with all software, especially web software, an early release such as this has issues and bugs we know about and I wanted to list some of the known issues here so you do not need to worry about them. They include:

parts of the home page are not yet complete, such as the service status box.
occasionally a settings box will take a short while to load
image elements require the component to be saved before they will display
the file choosers does not allow you to choose a file from your desktop directly. You must first upload it using the file manager tool
normal mode in the styles manager tool has not yet been activated

We do, however, look forward to you posting messages about the issues you find and we really look forward to your comments. To do this, just email them to [email protected]" title="[email protected]">[email protected].
